Anxious about appt.

I am 27 weeks pregnant and yet I'm still having moments like, "Oh my gosh-there is a BABY inside of me." I think that I will still have moments like this after Kynlee is born, except it will be more like "WOW I really had a baby."

We are very excited but I guess it all seems so surreal still.

This afternoon I am going for my glucose test. Please say a quick prayer for me because I am a big baby and H.A.T.E. having my blood drawn! Seriously, I'd rather have ten shots than have my blood drawn!

I'll post afterwards and let you all know how it goes!

27 wks

My sister is getting MARRIED and tomorrow starts her wedding festivities, so I wanted to go ahead and do my 27wk post since I will be busy all weekend!

Kynlee is growing so much and I can now distinctly feel where she is at when I touch my belly! It's hard as a rock! I have had some pain the last few days and didn't know how to describe it at first. After thinking about it for a while, the best way I can describe it is this: it feels like she is tugging on my belly button from the inside and pulling it closer to her! Gross, I know. Sounds painful? It is.

Also, the dreaded breast soreness has returned, along with exhaustion (that never really left anyway) and really bad [lower] back pains! I've had back problems for several years now due to a bad wreck in high school, and so I'm hoping and praying that I don't have back labor with her.

Other than that, she is still kicking a lot and making her presence known. :)

My next OB appointment is on Tuesday, June 15th. This is when they will do the sugar test to check for diabetes. I am dreading this because it means more blood work!

Soon I will also need to schedule an appointment for our 3D/4D ultrasound. I can't wait! We will probably try to schedule it around the first week in July!

Last time we went for an US, Kynlee had only gained 2 ounces in one week, which put her at 1lb, 12 ounces. I feel like she is AT LEAST 2lbs. now, but I'm not certain. Below is what babycenter.com tells us for week 27 (which is the LAST week of the 2nd trimester!):

How your baby's growing:

This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower)...

...and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.

Less than 100 days to go!

Hey everyone!

Yesterday on our way home from the beach I got to thinking about how my husband and I only have around 14 more weeks until Kynlee is here and our lives are FOREVER changed.. for the better! What an intense, indescribable feeling...

I just checked the baby countdown and realized that we have less than 100 days until I am 40wks!! WOW!

I have been religiously watching and waiting for it to be under 100 days...then being out of town this past weekend I forgot about it! So now there are only 96 days left...give or take a few!

I just wanted to take a moment and share what our best friends sent us for Kynlee!
It's the Graco Rittenhouse SnugRide 32 Infant Car Seat!

This is the pattern we are using for everything-- Stroller, Pack 'n Play, High Chair, etc.
I love the black & white damask print because it is perfect for girls OR boys.
We'll throw in some pink accessories for Kynlee, and more boyish colors if we have a boy one day!

We have also received other amazing gifts from special friends and family members and I will share those as soon as I can get some pictures up!

24 wk ultrasound

So yesterday my husband and I went for an ultrasound! We had not seen her in about 6 weeks since they don't do them very often at the doc's office. Luckily, my sister is an ultrasound tech and is a clinical instructor for a college in a near by town...so she can do ultrasounds for me as often as I'd like!

At the beginning of the pregnancy (especially before we found out the sex) we were there every single week. Now that I know Kynlee is a girl and she is kicking a lot I don't worry as much. I sure was happy to see her, though!

Unfortunately, she was being shy and would not show us her whole face! If she wasn't laying completely upside down, then her back was to us. Silly girl.

My sister was able to do some measurements and she is measuring right on her due date-September 11, 2010. She is weighing in at 1 lb, 10 ounces. :)
(This is a lil more than babycenter.com says she is supposed to weigh at 24wks-but I know their info is just an average).

In other news, she is no where near in the right position towards the birth canal. Just the opposite, in fact. I know that there is still plenty of time and she is constantly moving around in there, but it still makes me a little anxious!

She was laying completely side to side across me and that explains those late night jabs into my side! We got to see her stretching a few times-and I'm talking good stretching-like legs all the way extended and chin/neck tilted back. It was precious!

I thought it was also neat to physically SEE her kicking me as I could physically FEEL her kicking, as well.
This week babycenter.com tells me that Kynlee is almost a foot long, or about the size of an ear of corn.

Below are a couple pictures of our little angel laying upside down, showing us her spine!
They were taken from my phone at an awkward angle so they are a little blurry but you will still be able to see.

Until next time,
